This is a brilliant blog post, with lots of great information about contexts! Well done.
Exam question - 6/10 Top of band 2
You have used a good structure in your response, however in order to achieve 10 marks/get into the top band you need to provide a little more detail (more so in your second paragraph) and maintain focus throughout.
As the marking criteria states - explain how social contexts can influence television programmes by giving either a detailed description of one context with a sophisticated explanation of how it influences programmes with reference to 'Cuffs', or an effective description of a number of social contexts with an explanation of their influence on programmes.
What your response lacks (more specifically in the second paragraph) is an explanation of the influence. You discuss the rise in Hate Crimes, but how does this influence 'Cuffs'? What actually happens within the episode to illustrate this influence?
Additionally, you need to make sure you are answering the question. You waver slightly from the question and discuss how a pre-watershed audience might be influenced, but the question asks how a media text will be influenced. Make sure you read the question and answer exactly what is being asked.
